Ever since I can remember, my mom always taught me the importance of taking care of our skin. "Our skin is delicate and fragile, it is the only one we have. You cannot buy another skin remember that forever." she would say. Our skin is definitely tougher than maybe she always made it out to be (all those hours of squeezing and poking random growths on our faces as adolescent girls, you know what I'm talking about), but that doesn't mean we shouldn't take care of it and it definitely means OUR SKIN SHOULD NEVER BE NEGLECTED! I've never struggled with full blown acne as a teenager, but as I age and change, my skin also ages and has natural occurring changes. My pores get clogged a lot faster when the climate is warmer, I have areas that are more dry than others, and I have areas that are more oily than others.. not to mention the dark spots that like to make appearances under my eyes when I'm tired.
That being said, when I increased my cardiovascular routine at the gym about 3 months ago, my skin was NOT happy. Most days I have to work out in full make-up, and the increase in sweat mixed with the opening of my pores during an intense work-out, had me waking up with random red pimples around my forehead, chin and cheekbones.
I decided it was time I purchased a face wash that could help me with this spotty situation. I had no idea what I was looking for, I just knew I wanted to try something natural, and cruelty free. I was at Superstore in Canada with my mom when I decided to check out their AMAZING organic aisle. I saw this face wash, and what stood out to me was the fact that it was made with TEA TREE. Tea tree oil is a natural oil that derives from the Tea tree. Tea tree oil has been curing infections, cuts, insect bites, acne, sore throats, toothaches, ear infections (the list really does go on and on) since the 1920's !!! I was pretty much sold on this product already, but I was serious about this so I had to do a little "research". I flipped it to the back and was even more impressed. Thursday Plantation states this product is happily vegan, not tested on animals. A quick Google search and I found this description:
I've been washing my face twice a day (always, always twice a day ladies and gentlemen) with this product for 3 weeks and I'M IN LOVE !!! This Soap-free cleanser has had me showing off my natural, bare, MAKE-UPLESS face out in public. I can't get enough of this natural glow I've been emanating. Don't get me wrong, I love make-up, I love enhancing my features, but lately, I feel like my skin is so freaking nice that I can get away with wearing just a cute pink lip gloss. Last, but not least, the smell. The smell is so magical that sometimes I just stand in the shower with the foam all over my face, close my eyes, and pretend I'm doing yoga somewhere in a jungle tree house in South East Asia.
So, Thursday Plantation, I can't wait to purchase every single product you have created because the love is reeeeal. =)
***PS
As a vegetarian my skin is naturally a lot clearer than it used to be when my diet was crap. Your DIET has as much to do with the health of your skin as cleansing it regularly does. That is something I cannot stress enough!! xoxxo.
